Over the course of any given day, the memory switch in my mind will get flipped on. If I’m in the midst of writing/revising my memoir, where I am deeply immersed in the past for hours at a time, day after day, it will happen a lot–sometimes fleeting, sometimes taking me down a road where I have to call the whole journey to a halt and get back to living in the present.
This micro-memoir, “A Salvage Operation,” published this past November by MicroLit Almanac was generated within that kind of experience. I am grateful to Catherine Parnell for publishing it and giving me a chance to narrate it as well.
